Major brake upgrade, need help! Fri, 31 January 2003 12:30 Go to next message
Hey guys. It's time my ST162 had some real stoppers. The entire set is getting a revamp. new discs (to fit inside 17" wheels), calipers, rotors etc. Do any of you guys know some good brands, whether or not to use ventilated discs or not? Money is no object. Thanks

When i had my st162 it broke very well, is there any sifference between the four stud and 5 stud models? which do you have? what about brakes from the st165 or perhaps the 185 brakes will fit on the car with little modification, they seemed a similar floorpan to the st162 imho.

i like thoes 4 words; "money is no object"....

But i have a ST162 as well and i want some real stopers as well, it just my bank account at the moment is a object, Laughing but, good rotors are DBA http://www.dba.com.au. They make some really good rotors. For calipers, i would be looking at the performance cars that have 4 piston caliper as stock (like R32 skyline's onwards and supra's and other car's and see with any fit/need minamal modifercation to fit them. Or u can go and get aftermarket brands like; Wilwood, Harrop, AP Racing, Endless. But to get into these aftermarket brands is big dollars and getting 4 piston calipers off a car with them is cheaper to buy and also to get them fittied would be cheaper overall then getting the aftermarket ones i think. But good luck, and i'm hoping to do the same thing as soon as the budget allows.
