Popular brake upgrades for MA61's.

Dudes....
Looking at a brake upgrade for the MA61. I don't wanna die young. At the moment, when hard under brakes, it sounds like one of my wheels is gonna fall off. It just doesn't cut it with the 7MT behind it, and has a tendency of diving to one side of the road.
What have people done if anything to improve the braking performance of their MA61's?

rebuild your calipers. you probably have single piston, floating calipers, and one side is 'floating' more then the other. pulling to one side.
stock brakes are a great upgrade over worn brakes

I agree with what's been said here, fix your existing brakes and use good quality pads and rotors. You'll be surprised how well an MA61 will pull up when the brakes are working properly! My brakes received an absolute flogging on a mountain run last night and didn't even look like giving up... and they're totally stock MA61 brakes.

I'm looking at getting some slotted discs, EBC type for the front. I have a 7mgt with some decent power and she dont stop either!
They are $286 Aussie a pair. Apparently the EBC are better than DBA's, alot of guys who use DBA's down at wakefield raceway are finding the backing plate on their pads are melting because the discs are getting too hot, but other guys with same pads dont have the problem with the EBC's.
Does anyone know of some decent pads??? Bendix dont make an ultimate pad to fit.

yeah, bendix pads are no good for performance... some tests have shown that the ultimate pad even crack under the extreme... why not try some EBC pads?? i recently intalled a set of greenstuff V4's in my celica and the difference is amazing, and even begin to decsribe!!
checkout EBC's website as they have many different pad copounds for different applications, and i'm sure they'll make a pad to suit your supra...

Well, fixing up the stocky brakes sure can't do any harm, when I had the same brakes on my ae86, it usta pull up pretty well after I put some EBC pads in there - regularly I would give it a bit of a flogging, the discs would be glowing quite brightly, but it would still pull up quite happily.
Another thing to try would be commodore brakes - I'm pretty sure they share the same sized stub axle.
Failing that, try what I did, with uzs130 crown discs and mazda 4 potters.

Yeah! I will get them overhauled instead of a change, and whack some EBC pads in there. What is ballpark figure on price of pads and which are the best green, yellow or red? What is the temp rating? Where is the best place to buy?

I'm about to get green ebc pads, they are the best compromise for the street + heavy car.
around $200 for a jza70 ( which are similar big single pots) to do the front.
Temp ratings are all explained on their website, I think yo can get them at autopro or some other place like that or order them direct.
