Hi Guys,
Im currently restoring a 1979 RA40 coupe. Now ive started to sand it down. What i need to know is where i can get good quality acrylic paint and related products in sydney. Does anyone one have a rough price of what im looking at per litre on acrylic paint, acrlyic thinners and acrylic clear.
Its been a while since ive purchased any paints the last time was back in 1994 using motto spray, that wasnt to great on quality finish, So i started using DULUX acrylics and related products and that turned out much better.Or has motto spray improved their quality of paint and products?
Any suggestion is well appreciated.

My Girl Friends Father is a spray painter for 26 years! And has been a sales rep for both Standox And PPG!
He reckons Standox is a better paint, easier to use etc...
So i take his word for it
I guess its personal preferance really?

The cheapest paint i know of is actually made right there in Sydney it is Concept Paints. How Cheap? I just bought 4 litres acrylic in Brisbane for $75 mixed! (stage 1 colour white from MR2) That is half the price of the paint that i usually get. I have just painted my car in it and the paint had good consistancy with good coverage. The finish is ok, a little dull however it was painted in a shed on a rainy day and although retarder was added a spray painter i know who used it a few times said the finish seems to be a little dull off the gun. His solution was to hit it with a single pack clear however i used a normal acrylic clear. With all acrylics a good cut and buff brings the paint finish up gleaming so in about 1 month i can tell you how the paint comes up. I was on a tight budget and i am happy with the result. If you can lash out the extra cash then go for Standox, Spartan, PPG etc. Just buy a 20 litre drum of thinners it will be cheaper. Buying paint in bulk is always cheaper. Good luck.
