Like the topic says, Its a cartoon series about a drifting ae96.
A friend showed me an eppisode and its quite cool  very unrealistic, but if you like animation stuff and cars you'll prob really like the show. Jump on Imesh or similar and search for "Initial D", heaps came up for me. Ohh and Make sure you watch the series in order.
Worth the download if you ask me.
Any1 else seen this series ? If so what ya think of it. 
ohh and its subtitled.

you can also wander down to your local chinatown and find the series on DVD... much better quality than avis off of the web.
I grabbed the 1st and 2nd stage box sets for $140,and the 3rd stage movie for $40. I also have the extar stage movie on vcd
(which is pretty average compared to the rest).
Initial D is pretty cool. the driving IS a bit over the top at times,but it's great entertainment.
just don't go out thinking you're Takumi after watching it. you'll likely wipe yourself,and some other poor bastard out playing king drifter.

hey fergo where did you get your intial d dvd's from? sounds pretty expensive but downloading on 56k just doesnt do it for me.

if you read my post again,you'll see I mentioned chinatown.
as for expensive,is you think $70 for 26 episodes of a series is expensive,you're on drugs.
each stage's box set was that price,the extra stage was given to me,but would cost about $26 to buy,and the movie box set was $40.
just over $200 for 10 discs,39 episodes and two movies. still sound expensive? if so,I hate to think what car mods look like to you.

I got my mate to buy the DVDs while he was in Hong Kong. It cost me something like $140 for the lot except the special stage ( I also have the whole series in DivX, so don't care about that).
Plus I also got some some Initial D model cars, Takumi drifting past the RX7 FC.

If you look on Ebay there are always box sets of the whole 10 DVD for sale. They car about US $60-70 plus US $20 shipping. They are there so much you can usually be the only bidder.
