Soarer air conditioner...is it the same as any OZ Toyotas? Sun, 02 February 2003 10:43 Go to next message
I think my A/C doesn't just need re-gassing now. It makes a fair bit of noise and then the belts smoke and it stops itself. I was wondering would I nead just new bearings or a whole new compresser or new wheels or what? If I need new parts will a normal A/C shop be able to fix it and if so what will I tell them the part is that I need? Is it the same as a locally made Toyota air conditioner?

Thanks, Steve

From what you describe you need ne compressor. any auto elec/air con shop should be able to do it for you. expect up to $400 for a 2nd hand compressor.

Is the belt smoking , or the compressor?
I once had this problem & discovered the bearing in the tensioner pulley had seized solid.
Fix: $10
