I made a steel frame box today..

Yay,
I managed to make a stick welded 1 cubic meter box frame of my own design today out of angle iron and some mesh.
Now while this maybe a small blimp on the fabrication radar for some of you I am happy to say that the welds are sound and I got the sequence correct so that it did not distort.
It even sits flat.
Although the way my hands, arms, legs and back feel tonight I fear tomorrow will be a slow day at the computer.

To grow some tuba type vegetables in as an horticultural experiment.
I want to see if I can build up soil depth and maintain a uniform shaped tuba without decay.
Since the box is its own little island, I can measure moisture and check the state of the tubas and do all those things that would be difficult to do when they are in the ground.

mmmm a roof-less MS-85 megan! now that sounds like a plan...as for the 1uz...we've been discussing this idea at cc and unforunately it looks like a no go. The heads foul on the spring tower/upper control arms area.
as for your steel frame box, welding is a skill that we all should master..the more you weld the better ya get....i think the experiment sounds interesting too.

Does checking classicrown qualify for the same explanation as yours? LOL just checking to see if there were any bites yet on the exp' of interest in my crown i posted here at toymods.
plenty of veiwers, which is interesting.
btw there is an imaculate looking MS-85 parked in a front yard between Parkes and Forbes on the Newell hwy in NSW. It's been there a while so i'm gonna go check it out in the next couple of weeks when i'm down there.

I find when I have a few drinks that I have to shut one eye to use the computer.
I can't get focus otherwise.
