Can I run my 1jz without an intercooler for a short period of time without damaging anything. While my IC endtanks are being made up I want to drive it to the exhaust shop and a few other places. Obviously I will be driving it VERY sedately.
PS I plan to hook up the pipes from the turbos to the inlet. Not just run it with no piping.
i drove mine for about 3-4 weeks with just the straight pipe where the cooler was gonna be. Once i'd saved the needed $1000, i went and got the job done. I was even kickin an r31 skylines arse with rb26 with no cooler haha.
YES!!! It will not ping when run on 98 octane. (Twin knock sensors)
I ran mine for about a week while my intercooler was being made, without a intercooler. It goes fine, but you will feel a remarkable improvement when the cooler is added.
