2TG/3T hybrid question Wed, 05 February 2003 10:40 Go to next message
Hey all
I guess this question has been answered all before but i still like to hear peoples opinion's on this matter.
Well at the moment i am rebuilding a 3T/2TG hybrid engine (nothing special for the moment until i get my forgies and run boost etc)
and my question is about the EFI setup.
I would like to know what manifold i need to use (I.E; can i use a 2TG-EU manifold and put 3T-GTE injectors on it instead of standard injectors and replace the brain with something better?)and how easy it to change over etc.
There is still more to ask on this subject but i'll start off with the injected side of things as im not far off completing my hybrid.

P.S. once i'm finished with this engine i hope to get good Q/M on the strip, so please tell me a good comp that can run natuarlly asparaterd and once i convert to turbs i wont have to use another comp etc. Smile

Thx alot
Simon

You can use 3T-GTE injectors, although they're not really necessary on an atmo engine. You will definitely need bigger injectors if you're going turbo though. FWIW I have a set of 3T-GTE injectors for sale if you're interested.

The Haltech E6K would run your engine nicely, but if your'e on a budget you could get away with a Microtech.

If you have a 2T-G and want to go turbo, you can use:
2T-GEU inlet manifold
3T-GTE injectors
3T-GTE exhaust manifold
CT20 (3T-GTE) turbo

It all bolts up, you just need to make a pipe from the turbo to the throttle. Also oil suply and drian to the turbo.

You can use a 2T-GE distributor by itself, but for computer controled ignition I think you need a extra sensor in your distributor, like what a 4A-GE has. What the best ignition setup for a 2T-GTE with aftermarket computer?
