The motor and everything else in place but my mechanic wants to upgrade the fuel lines. Is it neccessary to change the fuel lines when putting a 4age into a sprinter.

I don't think it would be abolutely nessecery. Any rubber hose under pressure should be replaced with new. The factory steel line under the car is 1/4" I think, and should be ok for a standard 4A-GE. If you are thinking more power then maybe a new 3/8" line? I have not done this sorry.
You will need a return line as well, so if you don't have one use the existing as a return, and put a new bigger line in for suply.

nup nothing needs to be done with the fuel lines, other than the replacing rubber ones with efi stuff.
there should be 3 lines under the car already anyway, use the big one for the supply and the smaller one for the return.
