u should keep the same rolling diameter [with lower profile tyres] and make sure you have the right offset if u dont want the tyres to scrub everywhere inside

I'm running 205's on my sprinter, they're 55 series as well, no real problems apart from the left tire scraping a bit on the chassis under compression, but this is more likely due to stuffed shocks.. Sad

edit: I should have mentioned that these are on 15" wheels.

8.5 inch wide tyres is a bit excessive dont u think? unless u have a beast under the bonnet i dont really see the point.
i'm not trying to flame you dude but u also have to consider if insurance will cover u.
good luck Cool

What u can do is get a set of deep dish rims... U need to offset to keep it away from your strut in most cases. 16" fits nicely if u put a 10mm spacer in behind the wheel hub... A bit of handy work with a oxy torch is needed. That way your wheel assembly is still 1 piece and road legal. I've got 205s by 50 on rear n 195 50 on front. 16".

Another solution is to get the studs from a landcruiser n whack them in and saw off a bit of the stud... Works the same.. Probably better Razz

I've got 16x6.5" wheels with 205s on the front and 215s on the back, all fits no worries. If I get the guards played with a bit I could readily stuff 225s in there.

I'm in bris.. i got some 16X7 ROH ZS rims from my 83 celica.
They're custom made and offset, i had them made in 1999.
Cost me over $2500.
They've travelled maybe 1000 Kms max (a couple of weekends).
But i can't get insurance on em till I's over 25 which is about 12months away. The tyres still got the little nobbily bits on em, LOL.. Running directional Dunlop Tyres - FM901 - 205/45 front and back, they came 2nd in a test of 10 tyres in Wheels magazine, some Falkens won.
Pretty sure the sprinter has the same stud pattern and offset, but I'm considering selling them.
I can get some pics etc if you're interested..
They're only 16X7 so they dont have a huge deep dish or nothing, but they look pretty big on a small car.
I'm saving up for some smaller 13" rims.
Have u considered putting MA60 supra rims on?? they look fat on a sprinter!
