first off thanx for reading! my "dillema" at the moment is that i have an ra60.. talk about crisis!!

anyways what i wanna know is a few things...

1) when ppl say they have fit an 18rg in the span of an afternoon.. is this just a bolt in conversion?? because if its just bolting in and not much mucking around i really want to get a few friends over one saturday or sunday and do this ourselves??
and if i got a mechanic to do this how much would it cost???? like roughly.. im not really interested in the mechanic option cause with the money its going to cost me for that i might aswell get another car! Razz

2) i REALLY want a different front to this....car. i would lurrrrrrrrrrrvee one of those celica supra fronts Very Happy but would this be possible or too much dicking around? i dont mind buy a bonnet and all that!
my other choice is to get a ra65 front from sumplace but i dont know how much that would cost??? does anybody have any thoughts on the supra and ra65 front ideas??

3) ae there any places in AUS that sell body kits for the ra60?? i like that kamihari one but its for the gts and i think they had flared wheel arches didnt they??? oh thats another thing! can i get flared wheel archers of a gts and fit them on mine??

4) as this thing is a carby... what are my options for airfilters and cold air induction?? my plan is to in the next 2 weeks get a bonnet scoop from ssv and get a ramflo airfilter fitted to the carby... is this a good idea??? any adivce on what i could do otherwise???

5) there basically my opions so far.. and besides fitting a 18rg would it be cheaper to fit a 22r efi??

sorry reason askign all these questions which probably sound stupid but this is what i wanna know and if anyone could help me out would be great!!!! thanx all!!!

1. An 18R-G swap will take bugger-all effort provided you get the right one to suit your car. Third-generation Celicas were available with 18R-GEU's from the factory, so if you get one of these it will definitely bolt in. I've never done an 18R-G conversion in an RA60, but it took an afternoon to do it in my RA23 and I can't see it being much different for you.

2. A Supra front end will definitely NOT fit. Completely different chassis forward of the firewall. Have you considered simply buying a Supra? You can pick up half-decent ones for $3k these days you know...

3. GTS wheelarch flares won't fit on your RA60; the actual guards are different on the GTS.

4. A different air filter will make jack-all difference. Cold air induction is always a good thing, but don't expect it to do much.

5. A 22R-E swap involves converting to EFI, which makes the job a little harder. I think it would make more sense to sell the car and buy an RA65 which already has a 22R-E in it.

Buying an RA65 also gives you IRS and the better front.
