oil pump and plate Tue, 11 February 2003 02:26 Go to next message
Quick question:

Is the oil plate on a 4A-ge block the same as that off any 4a (4a, 4a-c, 4a-f, 4a-fe) block? will they bolt onto the 4A-GE with no hassles and if all are compatible where can i get one?

Leigh

leigh what do you mean by plate? from what i gather they all use the same oil filter, are you referring to the sandwich plate for the oil cooler setup on the 100kw and MR2 motors?

You mean the plate on the top of the sump? I'm pretty sure they're all the same.

do you mean behind the belt? as in the timing cover backing plate???

20V is different and cant be used unless you are going to use the 20V cam covers which means you have to use the 20V head. Just use the 86/100Kw backing plate

THANKS iRA11Y, U ROCK MATE, TRUELY A 4A-GE GURU

so what u r saying is a plate off a 4a, or a 4a-fe would work on a 4age block, i am using a 4age block with a 20v head on it, as for the side covers that bolt on i think i will use the bottom 2/3 parts of a 4age 16v and use nothing over the 20v head, or modify a 20v cover to fit.

so does anyone have a oil plate for sale same with a harmonic balancer for a 4age???

If youre using a 20V head then use the very bottom cam belt cover of any of the 4A's theyre all the same, #2 and Top covers use the 20V covers with the 20V cam cover backing plate, the 100Kw and 86Kw backing plate have different location hole to mount the front covers on so you cant use them for the 20V top covers
