Sounds like a load of crap to me.
When you apply for plates, they don't ask you what colour your car is.
One thing I do know though, is that they don't like (or allow) numbers and letters that look like each other to be placed next to each other (eg. 1 and I). I read that one somewhere on the RTA site.

I'm quite sure that its crap. I owned a white Paseo for 3 yrs and it had white plates with black wrighting and never had a problem. Got booked speeding 5 times in 2 weeks nothing was ever mentioned about the plates.

hehe, i was bad.
But i had to have my foot mashed on the loud pedal for the paseo to go anywhere. Lost licence opted for probationary 2 points for 12 months & that was hard work

5time in 2 weeks... so you were doing constant 0-100km/h runs cos it's take nearly 2 weeks to reach it 5 times

I'm pretty sure this is true..if you go on the rta website and use the section to see how a certain number plate would look, putting O and 0 or I and 1 together always comes back saying 'that number plate is not available'.

interesting, i saw a black chrysler van with the number plate
[QQ0-000] this morning
the plate was black background white letters
