This thing is the best handling car ive been, apart from his PRB Clubman.........
But unlike 99.9% of MX5's that couldnt pull the skin off rice pudding, it just turned out 280rwhp @ 19psi (207kw). Its fuggin quick. And its not the MX5 1.8 motor either, its another mazda 1.8 varient.
Custom built Torsen diff, it does donuts on a 10c piece, and produces brilliant power slides (tyres are Falken Azenis).
Heading down to Wakefield Park on Saturday for private practice. The current lap record for an MX5 is 1:08....pretty much garuntee that will be beaten within the 1st few laps.....
I want an MX5 now.....well his one anyway

is it running a BPD out of a 323 gtr? i would definitely like to see that thing in action!
has anyone actually seen the new mx-5 sp turbo on the road? its been out for a while now but i havent seen any around. whats the go?

No...What you REALLY want is a Supercharged Bullet! Effectively the same car, but with a 330KW Super-charged 1UZ driving it

Yeah its the BP 1.8 out of the Familia GTR, fucking awsome motor out of the factory!! Forged pistons, rods, bigarse IHI ball bearing turbo, etc , etc....... turbo is efficient to 27psi untouched
He could only find 1 for sale in Australia, and there was only 2000 of them ever built!!!
The Bullet roadster would be good in a straight line, but leaves a bit to be desired in the handling department.....hell, they piss the double wishbone front end off in favor (?!?!?!) of a Macpherson strut setup ?! Idiots......

They are a brilliant handling car, thats what I always loved about my brothers one, remember too much power on these cars is not a good thing. Makes them kind of hard to drive on the mountains, less power means you can drive at the limit more consistantly rather than jockying with the power all the time.
Just sold the sucker too.

i'll back it up though, went for a ride when it was only running low boost and the thing is quick. Will get allan from PointA to the salon in 2 seconds flat!

So the Bullet car doesn't use double wishbones up front...it still handles awesomely from what I've heard, because they redesigned the chassis to cope with the extra weight.
Too bad they dont make the GT Roadster version anymore...400hp of lovely 8-throttle 1UZFE goodness, imagine the throttle response of a revvy 4ltr quad-cam V8 like that.....*drools*

Your comments are valid re: the Bullet's handling...these things were designed to cope with the weight of a 1U and still handle excellently.
As for the 8 throttle-body version, I'm told that the induction noise was simply too loud for a street-driven car...thus they are now doing a twin-throttle body version which, (I'm told by someone who should know  ), produces similar numbers to the 8 throttle-body version.
This type of mod obviously requires that the engine is after-market managed (no AFM)...Hang on, MY engine is after-market managed....

I spoke to one of the former founders of Bullet over e-mail for a bit while I was researching my 1UZFE into MA61 conversion. He told me about how they canned the Bullet GT because one as you said, the noise, and two because they had trouble with it passing emmissions.
Sad to say the two founders are no longer part of the company though

I saw Allan when the engine was in but the turbo wasn't. His plan sounded good.
Great to hear that it's all finished! I'd love to see him cane that thing around Wakefield!

Les, dude it totally is that motor. And the thing is an ANIMAL. Him and Phil and Luke all drive bloody quick cars, and im the let down (GTi), thats why im always checkin for demos. haha
