damn these flamin 18r engines Fri, 14 February 2003 01:22 Go to next message
at the end of 2001 i had to replace the fanbelt on the old 18r-c engine. i have since been to several automotive places and a couple of vee belt factorys but they always have only two sizes for it. too big and too fu#@%n small.

what the hell is wrong with these flamin 18r engines. Mad first the doped out idiots screw up somthing so simple as a timing chain cover (is there any other engine in the world where the head has to come off to replace the bloody thing). then they decide to jam a whole heap of tubes and emmitions crap on the carby (ive had a plate full of spagetti that was easer to follow than that silly looken thing) now i find that there is no machine in existance within the whole planet that has the capabilitys of producing a vee belt to fit the damn thing. gees, someone please shoot the idiot who designed this f*#$%d up motor Evil or Very Mad

I didn't have any problems getting a new fan belt for my 18R-G last week (same belt as an 18R-C). I didn't even bother looking for an 18R-specific belt, I just took the old one in and looked for a new one that was the same length. Any decent parts supplier will have a huge variety of lengths available!

Whoa man have a look at a 5M-E if you ever get a chance! Gotta love the anti pollution 80's and EFI!

Cheers
