Just a thought. Don't know if this is possible or not but would be a killer if possible.
Take an ls200 east west 1g engine and mount it in a corolla.
The a low compression head gasket with the 1ggte head bolted on?
Now is this worked it would be better than a 4agte i think.
I think the 1g has more potential for power than the usual 4a gte.
Just a thought, probably not even possible but still would be a killer.

PS could even hook up that awesome 6 speed they came with.

IS200 has a north-south engine

The only six cylinder east west is the V6 from a Camry, & I severely doubt that would fit due to the width of the engine

I'd like to see someone drop an inline six plus gearbox into the engine bay of a corolla in an east west config. I think you might need some big fat flared guards fit it in. Laughing

You would be a very crafty engineer to get away with that one me thinks.

i thought there was a east west 1g engine
not sure where i seen it but i am positive i have seen one.
I could be dreaming tho.
