Hi,
Was there ever a 7M front pulley that had a normal V belt instead of a polly V for the Air Conditioner.?
I heard a rumor that some models of Soarer may have had it.
If such a pulley exists I would be interested in obtaining one.

I haven't heard but i sure would be interested in one for my conversion, then i don't have to drop the gas out of my A/C system as it has the old gas that costs around $1000/KG if you can still get it I was previously getting 4Deg C out of my vents

Ok,
Well the problem was about not having a polly-V pulley on the AC compressor and I was not in a position to replace the unit.
I ended up swapping a polley-V pulley and clutch from an AC unit off a Ford Telstar.
It fits and the clutch engages properly.
So now all I need to do is make an adapter mount as the 7M standard bracket will not fit between the firewall and the motor.
So with any luck by the end of the weekend I will have air conditioning.

the 5me out of the SUPRA ONLY runs a flat "poly v" belt on the water pump and normal v belt on the power steering and ac.
maybe you could use one of these?
(note, the 5me out of the cressidas has normal v belts for everything)
not sure what the 5mge is like, but i suspect similar
cheers

Megan I'm interested in your ac conversion. I've put a 7mgte inplace of the 5me in an MA61.
I have left the 5me ac compressor in because its full of gas and its not good to drop the gas and leave it open to the air.
What model telstar did you get the v-pulley annd clutch off?
Which compressor do I unbolt the pulley off and put the pulley off the telstar onto? It's a little confusing from what you have said sorry.
All help very appreciated!
Also what car have you put the engine into? Its weird the ac hits the firewall.

Hi,
I am not sure what model of Telstar it came from the unit was a nipondenso which goes a long way to explaining why it fits the toyota one.
The Telstar pulley was two pulleys in one, a 3 ridge polly v and a 4 ridge Polly v.
The 3 ridge polly v is the one I need to align to the crank shaft pulley.
At the moment I am turning the workshop over looking for the idler pulley and adjuster for the 7M, unlike the others it is a separate little frame and I have lost it.
All I have to do then is make an adapter to adjust the AC compressor out and up by about 2 cms so that I have good clearance of the cross member.
Cheers.
