yesterday was by far the best valentines day i have ever had, my beautiful girlfriend not only suprised me with a beautiful letter showing here love, she also won my heart with some heart shaped biscuts she made for me, but best of all, without my knowing she bought me a model TA22 from the hobby shop that i was looking at buying for ages that i was going to paint up just like mine, she even bought me the purple paint.
to MEL, on this valentines day, I LOVE YOU

LOL Valentines Day is the biggest JOKE!!
I can not stand the whole concept of the day and think it is just a massive marketing tool, just like Christmas, Easter, etc etc!!
It is PATHETIC how you see guys buying roses and shit for their women just one day of the year.... this is especially true of the cocksuckers that have fucked around on their girl, lied to them and mistreated them over the past year.
PHEW... ok my point is that why is it that 99% of people do not do little things for their special someone every so often as opposed to being sheep and guys are the most guilty of this as you see some guys think along the lines of
"Well duh, um yeah.... uhhhh If I buy her roses.... duhhh... she will probably give me head tonight"
Give me a motherfucking break, if your woman aint giving you head straight up, no if's or but's then its time to move on!!
C YA!!!!
Oh don't get me wrong you gotta return the favour 10 fold, HEAD aint no one way street!
Man I am so glad my G/F don't give a fuck about Valentine's day and we just appreciate every day with each other, doing things for each other EVERYDAY as opposed to ONE day a year!!
And on an ending note.... FUCK ROMANCE, that is for guys who need to make up for certain SHORTCOMMING!!
Treat your woman RIGHT, give em a TREAT everynight!
SPEEDCORE
PS: juzzo as for the cookies...... that's hell kool! Something made with her own hands and isn't like a ridiculous gift that cost the whole fortnights pay check, that's what REAL gifts should be! Now tell her to get her ass back in the kitchen!! hehe j/k

Valentine's Day = another Hallmark moment.
I'd much prefer my partner to give me something right out of the blue, rather than having to be prompted from right after Christmas (another Hallmark moment). Other Hallmark moments include Easter, Mother's day and Father's day. Notice these events are separated by approximately 2 months, if you take the view that Christmas is really a one month retail extravaganza.
Essentially, these are ploys by retailers to increase quartely statements for shareholders. I suppose that might be true love for some!

Speedcore I agree with your sentiments almost entirely, particularly this bit

I think I've been single for every valentines day (man, that says a lot about the success of my relationships to date).
but I'm with the idea that it's a marketing tool. I mean, my friend got his girl a dozen long stemmed roses, but he does that stuff whenever the urge hits him.
I dont see the point of romance "because it's valentines day" if you dont make the effort the rest of the time.
same way being single on valentines day doesn't bother me, since I'm sinlge every other day

My gf made heart-shaped cookies for me about 4 years ago. I nearly broke a couple of teeth trying to bite into one of them.
I still have them on my shelf, perfectly preserved after 4 years (and she didn't put ANY presevatives in!).
I'm saving them up just in case someone breaks into my house, I can kill them by throwing the cookies through a couple of walls at them....
