probably already asked before , but ill ask any way
1. will a jza70 supra 1jzgte fit into a mz20 soarer, currently 7mgte.
2. what will have to be done to make it fit?
3. what changes will have to be made to computer n related equip?
4. will the r154 bolt straight up with the 1j onto soarer driveline (is currently standard auto).
5.who and what else should i be asking????
6. What mods could b done to the 1j before or while going in? (just thought i might ask)

yeah man of course it will fit...7mgte is a much bigger sized engine. youll have to make custom engine mounts, a custom sump unless you buy a chaser 1/2 cut. My advice is buy a whole 1/2 cut...then you get computer etc etc...u gotta rip out the 7m computer and replace it with the 1jz one. the rest of your questions i dont really know about...

The 1JZGTE is only smaller in capacity than a 7MGTE, its externally almost the same size.
Seeing as there are quite a few similarities between the Z2 Soarers and the Mk3 Supra I'd be inclined to check out if the sump is compatible etc.
While the engine is out I'd be inclined to change the seals and the timing belt just for peace of mind.

1) Yep, it should. There is only about 10-20mm difference in length.
2) The MZ20, MA70 and MX83 are pretty much based on the same floor plan. Measure up a JZA70 Xmember and see if it's the same. You might just be lucky. Otherwise, you will need to make some engine mounts and/or modify your Xmember.
3) Clearly you will need to run the 1JZGTE ECU and loom.
4) Provided you have a bellhousing to suit, an R154 will bolt right up. However, I don't believe the 7MGTE MZ20 was ever available as a manual, so the tranny tunnel may not be capacious enough without hammer modification. Of course, you will need all the related crap to convert from auto to manual (pedal box, master and slave cylinders, hydraulic line, flywheel, clutch, spiggot bearing). You might need to get the pedal box from a GZ20.
5) Someone who has done exactly such a conversion.
6) Unless you are loaded, no. Not only are they expensive, they will add considerably to start up time. Perhaps the Y pipe mod, but I believe this is around a $5-700 job. The Novocastrian 1J boys would be able to tell you if it's worth doing out of car.
Change front and rear oil seals, timing belt and serpentine belt.

I've seen a manual 7MGTE MZ20 - pretty sure it was factory, didn't think to check the plates etc.

i am looking at purchasing a man ij halfcut from a jza70 supra, sorry i probably should have mentioned that .
what is the deference between a chaser , aristo , so on so forth and where do these names come from... they get flown around alot but i have never taken the time to find out what they are.
im aware that a chaser will ( probably ) bolt straight in.

1jz was only ever released in japan
the chaser has a front-sump, which is typically what you want for most engine conversions into older cars.
bear in mind these are rare as rocking horse s^&t.
the the others are mid/rear .. which will require you putting in a new crossmember (although I never looked into that side of things)
and as has been said... other mods while it's out depends on how rich you are.
it's easier to put a bigger turbo on while it's out, but that's a lot of peanuts once you start going down that road.

ok so a jza70 isnt a chaser, thus i have to change the cross member.
how much stuffing about does that require? would i be better off waiting for a chaser cut?

you dont have to change the crossmember... if you can find a chaser engine (or better yet, a ruined chaser engine) then you might be able to grab the sump off that (or swap your JZA70 sump for the chaser sump)
obviously you want to do as little extra work as possible, so if you can find a chaser hlaf cut or chaser sump, I'd definitly be going that way
