Feb Cruise- to the 'Gong
|
Sat, 15 February 2003 07:07
|
|
When: Sunday, 23rd February, 9:00am
Where: Homebush Bay, the carpark near the station, just off Australia Drive.
Destination: Wollongong, Mt Keira, the pie shop in the middle of nowhere.
I guess this could be called a late notice cruise, seeing as it's next weekend, but those of us who were on the last one will no doubt be as keen as I am to hit the mountain again. I'm aiming to get us there around midday, so as to avoid the blinding sun in the eyes you get in the late arvo.
We're gonna meet at 9 in the morning, and head off no later that 9:30, so don't be late. We'll jump on Homebush Drive heading south, turn off that onto the Hume Hwy just after Rookwook cemetary, then turn off that down Stacey st which will take us all the way through menai & hook us up with Heathcote rd.
Once we get down to the gong we'll meet up with any locals that are coming, & head up the mountain where we'll stop at the pie shop for lunch. From there we'll decide where to head next, into town or whether we head home via Appin & Campbelltown.
Any 'Gong locals keen to be a bit of a tour guide let me know, I still don't know my way around down there.
Bring your CBs, tuned to channel 16.
See you there.

I'd prolly come except for that fact it's on a sunday morning, morning after saturday night, I'd probably still be over the limit at 9am... so I wont be there, for my own safety

Ooooooh yeah, now I'm excited!
I'm hearing alot of dodgy excuses here too, juzzo, my diff was wasted until today, only took a couple hours to replace it, and Burgman, just spend your saturday night out driving around, then you won't have to drink!
Ribbo, if you wern't on the last one (I can't remember if you were or not ) you should definitely come. Mt Kiera is a shitload of fun.
Unless you come across dodgy porsche drivers.....

CANCELLED.
It's too wet anyway, there was only me, Ben (Rolla Boy) Sam & Luke (the Stitt) at Homebush, so we pissed it off. It wouldn't have been any fun in this weather, & I still have stock wheels on the back of mine, & combined with wide tyres at the front makes a poor combination for wet weather driving.

I'm happy anywayz...
Getting up for the cruise early was good otherwise I would've slept for half the day...
Hopefully the weather will be better for the South Coast Cruise...
