high boost black intercooler hose.	Tue, 11 June 2002 10:35

Due to not being able/want to afford custom piping for the intercooler, where do you guys get your high pressure rated black rubber 2 inch hose NEW. I've been to car and truck shops and they don't have any, and generally don't know what the hell I am talking about. Where do I Find? Is bigger diameter better? I dont think anyone uses black rubber hose for thier boost lines. rubber will perish in contact with petroleum products (oil from your turbos), and is not recomended for that purpose. if you want you should get high presure silicon hose which is impervious to hydrocarbons. Its usually blue or orange. try pirtek or a turbo shop. it will set you back about $10 an inch though and cannot do bends. you can buy bends in this hose, but they cost upwards of $100 per bend. I went to local truck place and got 2 1/2" for $2-50 a inch and 3" for $3-50 a inch. It was blue though. Also got sum 1" for 60c an inch. marty [Report message to a moderator]
