pictures in the car and preferably removed from car, weight of engine gearbox or both, approx length & widths of motor
information on the gearbox and ratio's would be great as well
Last question does anyone know what they are approx worth at the wreckers
Pics can be emailed to j@yackandandah.com

The MZ series V6's (all alloy) are found in current Camry's and Avalons. The VZ series (iron block) are found in older Camry's.

Eeek, keep away from the 3VZ-FE. I managed to kill one at 60,000km on the clock. 2 broken conrods, lots of holes in the block, and a cracked block (3 pieces).
This was doing 70km/h at around 4,500rpm.
Most unreliable engine I've ever seen.
Don't expect to extract much extra power out of the 1MZ either. Apparently not very tunable at all, being a FE type engine.

We get the 1MZ-FE I think.
Not sure if they're produced locally or not... The cars are but the engines might be transported from Japan...

The FE type engines aren't the top of the top, but they have to be tunable to an extent, look at the upgrade stuff for the 1UZFE

Hmmm, I had once thought about supercharging a VZ engine in my car, just to be different, but ended up using a turbo'd 4ag simply for ease/cost reasons. Would have been interesting to see how strong the engine was when I pulled it down though.

jamie are you thinking of keeping it in FWD format? they are mounted on quite a slant (can hardly get to the rear banks plugs) and you might have troubles if its for RWD application..

I think he's planning it in mid-engine format.
The box is obviously the V6 Camry box which is supposed to be pretty strong, although I would assume the MR2 box is stronger and is more likely to have the option of LSD.
I doubt the 1MZFE would have the 6-bolt mains of the 1UZFE, but there may be potential with the head, problem is no one has really gone all out with them because they are only available in FWD.

Rob,...Justcallmefrank is right, it is going into a mid engine configuration
these cars currently run the 3sge or 3sgte motors and box and we are trying to look at an appealing engine package as an alternative to a 4cyl for the next batch of compliance
the cars come in either turnkey or kit form

I heard that the manual boxes from the 3L motor were the same as the GT4, just minus the rear coupling
