Hi,

I've found a guy who specialises in automotive fibreglass work who can mould a set of panels for TA22 or other early Celica and produce copies.

I AM REPOSTING THIS THREAD IN THE GENERAL SECTION; ALL PEOPLE FROM INTERSTATE WHO CAN OFFER THEIR PANELS FOR TEMPLATING IN MELBOURNE PLEASE POST HERE.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT AS THIS IS NO LONGER A VICTORIAN EVENT I WILL NO LONGER BE SUPPLYING COKE AND BBQ FOR ANYONE WHO GENEROUSLY OFFERS TO DRIVE INTERSTATE TO SUPPLY PANELS FOR TEMPLATING!!1!!11!

Thanks in advance.

Hi all, hope you all well. Long time no message from me on the board as I am still abroad, but I hope the Toyota love is as strong as ever, it certainly is for me...

Anyway, has anyone used a transporting company to either import or export a car & can they then recommend a good company if they have??

In short, the OTTER (GT4) is still in the garage back in Aus & my dad takes it out every couple of weeks & now I've set myself up for what looks to be the long term here in the UK. (Even bought myself an MR2 MkII (G Limited), but hell does it need an engine upgrade).

Anyway, the GT4 is a fairly rare car here in the UK & one in good condition will go for the equivalent of about $20K back in our proper money, so I am umming & ahhing about what to do with it.

1. Sell GT4 (sigh, don't want to) & use the money to upgrade the MR2 (errr, where do I start with a 3SGTE engine swap??)
2. Import GT4 to here in the UK & either sell or keep MR2

#2 is the much preferred option & so, I was wondering if anyone has had anyone experience with importers & exporters, likely costs, things to look out for, legalities of taking car out of the country, time frames etc etc.

Take care all.

Mk4 Supra front suspension Mon, 18 October 2004 04:31 Go to previous messageGo to next message
I would like to see some detail shots of Mk4 Supra front suspension if anyone has any. I'm interested in building a chassis to accept the Supra front suspension/crossmember and supra rear suspension module. The basic idea is for a kind of Panoz Roadster S (the le-mans racer). The only thing I wont be able to incorporate is the rear mounted gearbox (too much stuffing around) Anyway, the powerplant will be either 1UZFE or 2JZGTE depending on cost. The photos will help me decide if the front uprights off the Supra will be usable. Much thanks and appreciation in advance to anyone with pix!! Very Happy Smile Surprised

I am willing and able to weld diff centres if people so desire. If you are wondering about the effects of a locker, or wondering if it's what you need please do a search, after that I'll happily answer any remaining queries.

Just reply or PM me to organise a time and then you can go out rallying/drifting/having fun to your hearts content.

A $10 donation for power, gas and welding wire and some beer for me will cover it.

Hen

PS, Note I am in Melbourne and the equipment is in Preston.

Price for TA23? Fri, 22 October 2004 14:57 Go to previous messageGo to next message
Just tryna find out whats a good price to pay for a 76 TA23, with about $500 worth of repair on rust if taken to a shop. Little bit of engine (2t) work to get it running again (fluids, battery). Body is straight, absolutely no dings or dents, excellent for restoration.
Engine and no rego wouldnt be any problem as planned as year long (probably longer Rolling Eyes ) project

What type of price range would be a decent price for something of this nature?

Cheers
Chris

For those who didnt turn up to the 2004 Canberra Rally Experience, This is what you missed out on!!! Sun, 24 October 2004 00:30 Go to previous messageGo to next message
The 2004 Canberra Rally experience has been run, and a great day was had by all, it was so popular we had to stop seling tickets for a while!! People who purchased rides were treated to a ride in a real rally car on a 5KM stage which was very fast exciting for both the driver and passenger, with 30 cars for the day and completing about 10 runs each, lots of money was raised for SnowyHydro Southcare.

For those who didnt turn up there was a late inclusion, Neil Bates took time out and bought one of their Corolla's out to take people for rides in ...

http://img67.exs.cx/img67/4176/batessmall.jpg

Of the other toyota's, there was my AE86 a GT4 and couple of Celicas. There was also a couple of EVO's ans WRX's and a mix of everything from RX7's to Vauxal Astras.

Ben.

GT4 Bonnet Induction Thu, 28 October 2004 23:46 Go to previous messageGo to next message
Hey, I got a GT-Four bonnet on my n/a celica. I was thinking of making a custom cold air induction thing from the big bonnet scoop directly into the throttle body. I was thinking if i made it all curved and everything, then at highway speeds it should force some air in there and maybe act like a mini-turbo. I am also thinking that it will be cooler air than what i have currently (pod in factory air box location = hot air induction?). How hard would this be to make. I've got no idea how it will work especially when you open the bonnet and everything, and where to put the filter while still having a good flow to force air in?

Or maybe I'm just an idiot, but let me know what you think.

hi all as you know if you have been in the for sale forum that my KE 30 is up for grabs. Well my N13 pulsar is in need of a conversion, mainly because I don't like the camira motor that sits between the struts. I was thinking of an E15 turbo or a CA18 non turbo, does anyone know whether either of these will fit.

I have tried nissanforums.com site and got no reply.

Replacing Windscreen Seal Cover Thu, 18 November 2004 23:24 Go to previous messageGo to next message
Well yeah i had taken off the metal side cover for the windscreen and after about 1 and a half hours i was able to put it back on with only 2 clips but it didn't work as well as i had hoped, i was going down burwood highway, doin 80 kms an hour, and i look to the left to see my left side window seal protector to fly up in the air and land on the side of the road, so now i need to either go find where it is and get new clips (which is a fucking bitch to put on) or get a rubber seal from a windscreen place, how much would they cost??

Would i install it myself?

TRD Levin/Sprinter Special Edition Bible? Thu, 09 December 2004 02:41 Go to previous messageGo to next message
Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone here has the TRD Levin/Sprinter Special Edition Bible?(http://www.chtoyota.com.au/parts.as - bottom right)

Just looking for a service manual for my AE92 JDM and was wondering if that has any (detailed) information on servicing it?

What other information is there in the manual?

Cheers

Folks,

For those on the slower connections that would like to see what turned out I've thumbnailed the photos that I took.

I want to thank the organisers for putting it together.
The interstate guys for making the effort!
The weather for getting over itself and f.cking off to give us an excellent afternoon (even if I got a touch of sunburn).
There are some awesome cars out there. Keep up the good work fellas!

Awesome Day

Cheers,
Dan

Black 2-door KE30 or KE55, who owns it? (Vic) Mon, 13 December 2004 04:17 Go to previous messageGo to next message
My mate's girlfriend owns a yellow KE55 and is always raving on about a black two door that often parks next to her car at work. She works at Southland shopping centre in Cheltenham (Melbourne). I know I haven't given too much info but does anyone know this car?

hey everyone,

Im doing a project for school and i want to find out a few measurements.
Ive made a quick diagram, so if anyone could fill out the measurements (the red lines) for an ae86 and a ke70 corolla it would be awesome. I would do it myself, but i dont know anyone that owns a car I could measure. Thanks for your help
