FCD for 7M-GTE, and max boost ?
|
Mon, 20 October 2003 05:36

|
Hi Gents,
Looking at boosting the 'ol 7M-GTE up a bit using either a Turbosmart bleed valve or one of Celica Mads units (that everyone raves about), but need a little advice/clarification ;
- Max boost is about 14psi (from searches in forums) ?
- Zener Diode FCD vs. Greddy/HKS etc FCD - what is really better ?
- Where will the std fuel system run out of puff "?
- Option 2 is to install the Lexus V8 AFM ($200) & 550cc injectors ($450) + AFPR ($??) to raise boost + fuel cut - is it really worth it ?
- Get a hi-flow CT26, and run a FCD at 14-15psi all day and live with that ?
Thanks in advance - I'm in two minds on which way to go ?
Car is currently stock running ~8psi and I have a decent intercooler lined up ready to be welded in
Cheers

Hey guys, seeing that my clutch slips in 5th gear even when im engaged doing 70 (its worse than any of you can possibly imagine)im looking at getting one of those exedy heavy duty clutch kits.
Ive done a FWD cable clutch replacement before, just wondering if theres much more to a hydralic like mine? I had a look and there seems to be heaps more *shit* involved with my car.
Cause im slack ill ask here first, anyone got a digital worksop manual or know a site that does? and cause im also pretty slack, where's the best place to buy one and how much am i looking at?
Cheers all

Starlet Glanza V parts?

'lo all,
Where can I obtain the front guards, bonnet, front bar and light assembly for a EP91 Starlet Glanza V? I don't mind if they are replicas.
I've been offered a very cheap EP91 Starlet which has some cosmetic damage to the front. I was thinking of buying it as a run-about and fitting the Glanza front end, as I'd need to replace the front panels anyway.
A front cut would be great, as I could fit the bigger front brakes, and the turbo engine later on.
I'm located in Sydney, but I dont mind shipping items from around Australia.
Cheers!

Hi I have to admit that I do not own the above car as yet I currently own a Lancer 1.8lt with cams CAI extractors and GReddy ect it currently puts out 127hp atw but I am getting bored with it and have narrowed down the list of potentual cars to the above model... what I am seek is some honest info on how easy it is to modify the engines in these cars I am looking at all aspects as to turboing it or just keeping it N/A ... if anyone has any information that me be of help to me even the bad stuff is ok as I really am a novice when it comes to the v-tech mechanics of how these motors work if you also have quarter mile times that would be good too and how they handle on the road and other upgrades
look forward to your responses

Hey.
I was wondering if anybody know how to connect the water spraybar on a Toyota ST185CS the hoses are there with 2 injectors pointing towards the IC-radiator. It is connected with the headlight washers through a valve with 1-in and 2-out but when I am pushing the switch to the washers there are not coming fluid out of the spraybar, Is the valve defect ? it is not electrical.
Please help.

The oil pick up mesh 'dome' in my GTE is crushed, like its been sucked up and inwards by the oil pump.
Is this normal in an old engine, or is my oil pump stuffing up and over-pressuring (if that's possible), or is there another explanation for this X-File ?
Thanks,

Urgent Help Needed - 1JZ Haltech E6X - No Spark
|
Mon, 24 November 2003 11:41
|
|
Guys I cant get a spark out of my coils. Ive gone over the wiring heaps of times, nothing wrong there. While cranking im getting a steady RPM signal on the Engine data screen (120 RPM). Im running the standard 1JZ ignition module all wired up to the diagram supplied to me by Haltech. Ive set up my ignition page as per Haltech advice as constant charge (dumb), and int. reluctor, multitooth etc. etc.
If i disconnect the module and put a multimeter set on voltage across my IGN1 and ground im getting fluctuating voltages. If I then reconnect the module and disconnect the plug from the coil, and measure across the two coil plug wires im getting fluctuating voltage there too, but of a different magnitude.
I know this is hard to diagnose, but can anyone see any possible errors, or even better post up their Igntion settings so I can compare it with mine, if you run a Haltech, or suggest an elimination process I can go through to determine the problem. I finally realised today scratching your head while staring at your engine will not get it to turn over . And no I dont have access to an oscilliscope at the moment.
Thanks

Hi Guys,
I need to replace a thermo switch from an '90 AE93 SX seca with 4age. I've tried around town and noone yet can give me the correct OEM replacement part (except toyota, but they want $170). Ive found 2 similar replacements in the catalogues with different temperature ranges - 80-85 deg and 85-90 deg. Can anyone tell me which one is correct?
The toyota part number is 89428-15011. Anyone abke to check the specs out on that?
Cheers Chris

For those of you with imports, I'm curious to know what you've done about covering up the space left over when putting the Aussie plates on the back.
With my recent change from a standard size to a slimline, I'm left with space at the top exposed (not finished very well from the factory), a big gap at the bottom with 2 push in plastic hooks exposed doing nothing, & part of diverts built into the tailgate to stop resonating.
I'd like to tidy up that area a bit.

Hi,
Would just like to ask a quick question on the size of the speakers(in the front) in the current corolla (the one with the 1zz-fe). I'm looking at getting a set of splits for the front stage of the car, no major upgrade just something a bit better then standard. I would of found out myself except that i didn't have time to pull the trims off and measure it in time, i'm over in thailand at the moment. So need some fairly accurate measurements, just want something to slot into the factory location, don't want to get something exotic and realise later that its just going to be sitting on the shelf at home.
Cheers
P.S. what do you think is better, getting a ra-65 and 1g-gte or supercharging the 1zz-fe in the rolla?
