for those of you who don't know what there is, in a nutshell, the next generation of irc. there is an imersive 3D chat room, you can chat, drive buggies, ride hoverboards, whatever you want. unlike conventional MMORPG, there has no goal to reach, you make your own fun. also, unlike MMORG, there has no user limit, there are no boundries on the world (i have read someone has hoverpacked for 12 hrs straight and been able to see the whole world).

you can buy stuff (stuff being clothes buggies etc), design stuff, sell stuff, give stuff, whatever.

when chatting, your avatar interprets hundreds of emoticons eg. you type and your avatar will smile, lol and your avatar will laugh.

edit: your pc will need to be 800mhz+, 3D card, micro-crud windows, and it will run NO PROBLEM on a 56k connection

Visited Bunnings today. They have lengths of right-angle (cross-section looks like |_) metal with short slots spaced regularly along the entire length, on both faces. Prices are:

* 32 x 32 x 1.5 x 2400 mm, black enamel, $11.90
* 38 x 38 x 1.8 x 3000 mm, galvanised, $20.98

Now, I figure these, in conjunction with some sheets of melamine and a pile of bolts, would be a perfect way to build the garage shelves I want. I'll personally be wanting around 50-55 metres of the stuff, all up. If I buy a lot of it I can probably con them into a bulk discount, and/or buy it cheaper elsewhere. Haven't had time to check the real metal vendors yet Some melamine prices:

* 2400 x 595 x 16 mm, white, undrilled, $35.70

Anyone else interested in this sort of thing? I'm planning to buy in the next month or so...
