Bolt-in tachometer question Wed, 31 August 2005 09:51 Go to previous message
Hi,

I'm looking at installing a tachometer for my AE92 Corolla CS. It has a 4A-FC engine (the carby one).

So I found this tachometer on ebay but it has a clause:

Do Not Fit Coil Pack Car Like V6 Commodore/Hyundia?Lancers ect WithOut Special Control Box Which Is $150 From Rocket Industries FITS ALL CARS WITH A DISTRIBTOR POINTS OR ELECTRONIC ALSO HAS A SWITCH ON THE BACK TO FIT ALL 4/6/8 CYLINDERS

So would this work on my car? TIA

In addition I hope to install it into the dashboard of the existing cluster (knock a round blanking plate out and sit the tacho in). Anyone does this before, or should I just mount it on the steering column? I'm not interested in adding racy gauges to the car, just want to know what RPMs its doing.
