I'm rebuilding a 1969 Corona, and I believe there is a bellhousing available which will allow a 5 speed box to be bolted to the 12R motors (I'm putting a fully re-built 4R into the Corona, which is basically a high performance version of the 12R). I understand that some of the later RT81's (ie the model after the RT40's, and which had 12R engines) had 5 speed boxes. I have a 1979 RA40 Celica which I have taken off the road, and would like to fit the 5 speed out of that into the Corona (the Celica has the 18R-C motor). I'm not sure if that box would be the same as those fitted to the RT81 Corona's, and if I can get a ready-made bell housing, that would make the job a lot easier. Can anyone help. ?? Thanks.
