engine vibration, why??

I thought 4AGE's were meant to be very smooth motors, yet mine seems to do nothing but vibrate. It's a turbo'd 4AGZE with aftermarket computer (haltech) setup as RWD in my TE72 (T18).
The vibration is not just a throbbing pulse like a big cam motor, its more of a high speed resonance, that rattles every loose body/interior part. Its got me absolutely stuffed. engine & gearbox mounts are good, no part of the motor touches the body of the car, its tuned beautifully, yet vibrates like a dog shitting peach pits!
Any ideas appreciated
