Bought a fresh set of tyres on the weekend. Good way to lose a grand...

Anyway, I find them really crap. Not much grip at all compared to the all tyres which were down to the radials...

I've driven about 700km on them. Is there a certain period when all the crud goes off the surface of the tyres?
Or did I buy shit tyres?

Tyres in question are:
Front: Falken ZE-326 (215/40R17)
Rear: Toyo Trampio (235/45R17)

[Edit: For comparison, the old tyres were Goodyear Eagle F1s front and Pirelli P6000s rear]
