well, the excessive tail-happyness I was talking about was my downfall. Cruising the old pac, taking it fairly easy because I kinew the handling had changed with that weight removed from the boot, and I came up to the left hander outside pie in the sky.

Hit a bump/pothole, and that got the back swinging out. Now normally this is fine, back off a little and it slots back in nicely. So I do this, and for some reason it keeps swinging, turning into a big over-correct. unfortunately, there was no room to correct this one, as I was already close to the gutter. so up the gutter I went, and then up the embankment the left side of my car started to go. At this point I thought, in perfect clarity, "fuck, it's going to flip". Then the still-swinging back collected the beginning of the rock wall, spun the car out 90 degrees, and left me facing the rock wall blocking 2 of the 3 lanes of traffic.

Luckily a guy who lives next to pie in the sky heard the crash, came out.. said g'day, the usual. called a mate and a flat-bed towie. firt towie said 20 mins, then 15 mins later called to confirm 5 mins, then 20 mins later didn't show. tried to call him for another 10 mins - no answer. so called ABAL (highly recommended by the way, the guy was nice and careful) and they picked up the car (which was hard - look at damage assessment)

Damage assessment:
-Both front wheels now steer independantly of each other, and the steering wheel (which made the towie's job REALLY hard)
-front left wheel is half buckled under
-right rear has a flat and a 10cm graze on the rim, otherwise fine
-left rear has been ripped mostly off the chassis, and is pushed back into the mud guard.
-Point of impact was on passenger door & 3/4 panel, and it's pushed about 30cm in, in an area about 75cm long
-both left flares ripped off, and partly lodged in various parts of the chassis and wheels
-left 3/4 window is broken
-front bumper has damage

So basically, from the drivers side of the car, it looks absolutely perfect except for a flat tire.
from the back, it looks perfect
from the front, it looks like it's had a rough life, but fine
from the passenger side, it screams "WRITE OFF" - which is what it is.

being stripped for parts, and looking for another supra to put it in. any help would be much appreciated Smile

and just as I was really getting attached to it, wanting to make it absolutely perfect. *sigh*
