Is it okay to put a Momo wheel on an Autotecnica hub? My car came with an autotecnica wheel/hub when I bought it, and I have a Momo wheel to go on. The hole spacing is the same and it will bolt on, but size of the hole in the middle where the horn button goes is different. I think I just need a Momo earth ring ($2.20 at Autospeed, $7 shipping!!!!)
Any thoughts on this? When I emailed autospeed about the ring, here is their reply:
----------------------------- I'm not quite sure how you'll go putting a Momo steering wheel on an AutoTechnica hub. It may be possible, but we wouldn't recommend it. I don't think that it is up to the same safety standards as a Momo hub. -------------------------------
When I asked what saftey concerns, they said:
------------------------------ As far as safety, I know the Momo one is TUV approved. I'm not sure about yours. --------------------------------
Any thoughts on this? What is TUV, and are Autotecnica and Momo hubs really that different?
