icon5.gif  leaking injectors? Mon, 05 January 2004 08:37 Go to previous message
hey everyone..

just wondering if someone can shed some light on this really annoying problem that i have:

ive been having a really bad hesitation problem with my 4ag every time i change gears--the car jolts like its stalling, its a pretty violent jolt and i have absolutely no idea as to what it could be.

when im absolutely flat-sticking it theres no jolt, and when i'm granny driving (giving it a second between gears) its fine as well.

i thought it was something to do with the pod, so i put the stocky airbox back in and it still does it.

has anyone got any ideas as to what it could be? it seems to me like a fuel problem.. cos at the moment to stop it from doing this every time i upchange i give it a blip of gas as i go through neutral (so its burning the clutch unnecessarily) and it doesnt do it then..

ive been giving it a bit of thought and i think i've come up with an answer.. Shocked

could it be leaking injectors? cos that would explain why my car runs so unbelievably rich?? so that when i have the gas down in gear, and then when i take my foot off the gas the injectors are still pissing fuel, so that when i change gears and get back onto the gas theres way too much fuel in the cylinders so its momentarily flooded (this is where the car bunnyhops and almost dies), and then when it burns away it starts accelerating again? Rolling Eyes

please help out with any ideas guys. i've had a few suggestions in my last thread:

*faulty clutch/p-plate
*engine mounts
etc

and i've checked everything and its all good. please help me out guys.

cheers, roman Very Happy

anyways, any ideas??
