i have a problem i have a 3tgte that originally came out with an oil cooler or so im told by sean malony the oil filter is screwed to an alloy shealed witch is also on a normal 3tgte but mine has a thread in the end that is usually carst alloy ,aparently i have a little thermostate in the top hole where steel hose from the turbo goes where as the original only has a hole so this thermostate alows the oil to flow throught the the steel hose to the turbo when its cold and as the oil temp heats up the thermostate closes thus forcing the oil through the cooler doing 2 jobs 1 ;slowing oil speed and increasing oil presure(pressure is resistance to flow) 2 ;cooling oil temp as it is runing slower through the cooler cores
my problem;the thermostate in this set up is stuck open therefore i have exsesive oil pressure continuaslly i need to obtain a theremostate that works ie new can i by these from toyota aust local did they come out in any other cars in aust does anybody have a part number or a toyota printed paper with correct presure &temp for 3tgte so as to fit a remote unit to steel lineat factory setings
