Hi all,
I've got a sweet TA23 with a 3T-GTE. Due to what I plan to do with the turbo I have been advised to change the gear ratios and possibly change to LSD, the diff i mean. As my friend who is a mechanic, he said the engine wasn't designed with the gear box in mind and same with the diff. I understand what he is saying, change the ratios and make the the drive line more in 'sync' but what are the advantages of making the diff LSD? anyone out there have done this before? as i'm interested in how much more cash i'm going to spend on my beast.
sorry to rack everyones mind again but I do have a problem with the turbo on my 3T. which is why i'm fixing it. the boost doesn't cut in until 3800 rpm. this sucks because when i first got the car going it was kicking in around 2000rpm. my mechanic friend has many theories whats wrong with it, any ideas anyone? plus does anyone know what car the 3T-GTE did come out of, i know it never made it into australia inside a production car of any sort.
thanks to anyone who writes back.
