Ok i don't know alot about heater boxes, but i'll tell u what i know/think and i want to know if i'm right or wrong and what i can do to fix it.
To start off the car is an ST162. The heater box is leaking coolant, i know that the coolant is used for heat in the heater box. To control the amount of heat being produced there is a regulator on the engine side of the fire wall that has a coolant filled hose hooked up to it.
My first theory is that the heater box has a hole in it, but to change or fix this i have to remove the entire dash and i'm hoping this isnt it.
My second theory is that when my mechanics last hooked up the heater box they put the pipes to the wrong places and the pressure inside the box is building up and thus pulling a sea apart and leaking coolant. I'm hoping that this is the case and all i have to do to fix it is switch the pipes on the engine side of the fire wall.
The quick fix that i have been doing to cope is just linking the 2 coolant pipes together, this is fine for summer but it is getting into winter and i need that heater to get the thin layer of ice off the windscreen. I can hardley see some mornings and the same some nights.
