Corolla is off the road ATM as the head gasket got beaten up.
While tuning the car for Dubbo we were unable to keep water in it (after a big boost spike and resulting detonation). I knew in my heart that the HG had gone, and yesterday I pulled the head and found that it was indeed blown (exhaust fumes coming out of the radiator is a bit of a clue ) . The last couple of weeks it had chewed through the water at a healthy pace (the doctors do recommend 2 litres a day).
This kind of serves me right though; I had not bothered to O ring the head in the rush to make Dubbo (Rod actually openly frowned upon this BAD decision).
Interesting thought though - 11.82 with blown head gasket? mmmm.
Today I am O ringing.
Can anyone recommend the use of a sealant to help keep the gasket alive?
