removing stickers!

ok bought my new car and it has pinstripes down the sides, well only one side. if both sides where there id leave it but one side is mostly gone so i wanna remove the rest. the stripe on the side is actually made up of six thin stripes with writing in the middle of the door. if tried pickiing it off, soappy water, eucalyptus oil, nothing works. best so far was hair drier for ages then scrathing it off with my figner which still took aggeeees cause it sorta crumbles off. does any one know the trick to getting it off? theres so much it will take me forever... and then to get the glue off argh!
