Upgrading RT104/18RC/unknown gearbox (?)

G'day all,
I've got a 78 Corona RT-104, and i'm wondering about fixing it up a bit. It's got the 18r-c engine in it, runs quite nicely (the car will beat an 4l 6cyl reco'd xf falcon off the line  ). Anyway, I don't know what gearbox it has, and it seems to be making a bit of bearing noise ... Can anyone tell me how to find out what gearbox is in there ?
Secondly, what 5 speed gearboxes will fit it ? I'd be looking at a heavy-er one, since i do a lot of hard driving (pizza delivery boy).
