It's not about whether the club is held responsible for the actions of an individual...it's about the individual's responsibility to not fuck everything up for those interested in car modifying and those that are members of a club that wants to promote the legitimacy of the car modifying scene. If we want to promote hoon driving, go form a hoon driving club - you can try and convince authorities of the legitimacy of reckless driving as much as you like. However, I think that trying to promote a good public image of car modification does alot to endear us to the authorities that could easily take away the right to modify a car in any way from it's original form. Modified cars should be 'safer' and alot more fun, but the fun is not to be had at the expense of the general public's safety, the fun is for the track. As a club we would have the numbers to hire out a track for a day and enjoy our cars in their element. I'm very keen as the club grows in size to work towards having track days and a legitimate time for us to go nuts in what is considered to be a safe environment. I'm not going to put any effort in though if the cruises degenerate into some kind of stupid crazy-fest. I didn't think the last cruise was that bad, however things could've been better and I'd hate for them to get worse when there is so much enthusiasm and numbers amongst the toyota crowd in S.A. This is purely my interpretation of what a club should be about...it's not the 'facts' it's just a guess. As for organising cruises, I CBFed atm I think that Graham and Stef are doing a good job and will continue to do so. Sure there's always going to be ideas as to how things could be better and I'm sure some of them will be tried out, that's the idea of this post. [Report message to a moderator]
