what 80's models use vacuum-controlled water tap for the heater? Mon, 20 December 2004 04:23 Go to previous message
hi folks,

i have an MA61 with non-functioning heater.

I've discovered that the valve that controls the hot water supply to the internal heater is stuffed.

So does anyone know what other models (apart from ma61 supra) use this kind of tap?

The water side isn't leaking, the vacuum thing leaks. When you suck on the tube feeding it, you can hear it hiss an the valve remains shut..

The tap lives on the firewall of the MA61.

the TSRM has this lonely pic of it:

The Mk3 (MA70) appears to not have this valve - or at least i cannot find (in the TSRM) how it controls water to its internal heater. I cannot remember if the lowly MZ that i saw at the wreckers had same kind of valve.

cheers and tia,
Charles
