Japan personal import laws Thu, 20 January 2005 23:37 Go to previous message
Hi guys, have had a couple of guys post about this in the 'for sale' thread for my supra
http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.php?t=msg&t h=53455&start=0&rid=1540&S=2fde8a67518 78ea26424423bcaa0b394

Apparently when i go to Japan for 12 months, if I own a car over there for that time, then i can bring it back as a personal import. Does anyone have any experience in having done this or know a lot about it? I'm assuming if its a 'personal import' then the 15 year rule doesn't apply. Does it also mean there are less compliance costs?

If you guys know any good websites about this that would also be really helpful.

don't want to waste an opportunity like this to get me an awesome soarer or a Mk4 supra....mmmm...twin-turbo goodness.....Smile
