HELP!!! I'm getting engine noise through my speakers?

I just installed an amp in a mates car,
ran the red wire from the +ve terminal on the battery to the fuse which I placed in the engine bay using one of the screws for the wiper motor,then ran the wire through the firewall with some other wires under the carpet and then to the power bit of the amp, I am grounding the amp using one of the bolts holding down the passenger seat.
the remote wire is just a really thin wire.
and then the RCA is running from the back of the headunit, to the input on the amp.
When the car is off it all works fine, no feedback. But as soon as the engine is turned on the speakers emit a weird noise that seems to go with the sound of the engine, only it is high pitch? yet sound still comes out?
the 4" speakers in the front that are hooked up to the headunit dont have this problem they work normally all the time.
Can someone please tell me what is causing this problem, and more importantly how I can fix it?
the head unit is a pioneer DEH-P2650
and the amp is a midas 1200w amp.
power wire and ground wire is 8gauge, speaker wire is just the normal really thing stuff, and the remote wire is just a piece of that speaker wire.
