rc crank same as rg??

im currently just building a 18rg from some left over gear i have and i had a complete block with some gear on it and crank already installed but it had no pistons...ive fitted some rg pistons but as soon as i tension up the pistons the engine jams up. is it possibhly the bottum end i have used has a rc crank in it. does the rc crank have smaller bearing journals then the rg and thats why the rg pistons are grippingh on the edge of the rc crank??? if that makes senser
