I'll be in Melb on the Friday and Saturday night of the GP weekend (am going to the GP on Sat for some coporate hospitality action in the Chicane skybox ). The last few times we've gone it's been with my deviate boss and always ended up at the Mens Gallery or somewhere equally bodgy, however this time I'd prefer to ditch the work collegues and go clubbing (since most strippers are manky skanks and I rarely to get to go clubbing in my home town these days).
So where is good on Friday and Saturday nights? I like house and techno, nowhere too pretentious and preferrably nowhere that makes you line up for two and half f**king hours just to get in. I've never had a decent night out in Melb - perhaps because we usually go to chapel st? If possible no hard house/hard trance venues with shiny things, teenage chicks in furry gaiters and lots of flurou because frankly I'm too old for that shit (and the music bores me to tears).
Hell, if the nightclubs are crap during the GP a decent pub will do too
