	| electric system problem | Mon, 28 March 2005 05:23 | | |
	| hey
the electrical system in my car is pretty shoddy. When my headlights are on, and i pull down a window (electric windows) my headlights dip slightly. When my headlights are turned on, my interior display clock dims. and various other little things

At first i thought it was an earthing problem, but after getting a jumper lead and puttin one end on my battery, and one end onto the chassis, it made no difference..

The battery is about 5 months old, but i've always had the problem, even when my battery was new, so that leaves my alternator.

Is it very difficult to change one? i know my dad does it by himself, so it cannot be too difficult i imagine.

How much would a new one cost, and is it possible to fit a "bigger" one with more output... i have 2 alternators in the shed from our old corona i believe,78 model . Dad says they are both in good workin condition

Can i simply get that and put it in my car? the engine is a 4S-FE and the car is an ST190 corona 92 model.

 Any other suggestions ?

 cheers
