I've a little concern.
As it says below, I have a ball bearing GT40 turbo.
Now it sits in the car for long periods at a time without being used (weeks up to month(s)).
Yesterday when I was playing with it, I thought I'd just take the air filter off and see what was inside. Well there is a little tiny bit oil stuck around the inlet of the turbo, but I'm not sure that's anything to worry about. The worry is that when I went to spin the turbo (Put my fingers on the compressor wheel and spun) it was stuck, solid and took a bit of pressure from me (nothing devastating, but it definately didnt' spin freely) to make it spin. Once I spun it once, it would spin freely and nicely and all the bit.
Just wondering, is this anything to worry about and if anyone knows of any turbo oil additive one can put it to save turbo seals? I'm trying to do the right thing..
