cross member/sump configurations for an MZ10?

sorry if sounds dumb..
i have a MZ10 rolling shell (ex MTEU) and a 1G-GTE doing nothing so i figured the two of them should be introduced and used in anger ... but the 1G is a mid/rear sump (came out of an RA40) and the MZ is suited for front sump.
what's easier? get different cross member, or locate a front sump/oil-pickup for the 1G?
wilbo: you were talking about this on thursday nite but i not remember them long words U used.
