styler Forums Junkie Location: brisbane Registered: October 2004	Re: for sale simmions V4 wheels Mon, 25 April 2005 03:05 err yeah well not really cos offset is a pretty precise game, its easy to measure it, you need 2 measurements : offset = wheel backspace - wheel centreline so 1) wheel backspace 2) wheel centreline take off a wheel put a straight edge across the tyre and measure from the back of the mounting pad to the ruler. then subtact the amount from the tyre to the rim to get the distance from the rim to the mounting pad, this is the backspace. then you need to work out the centreline, rim width from edge to edge. centreline = ( rim width edge to edge ) divide by 2 offset = wheel backspace - wheel centreline if it is negative = negative offset if it is positive = positive offset see http://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html#wheeltrm for loads of info on wheel pcd offset backspace etc [Report message to a moderator]
