choke not opening? Wed, 22 June 2005 00:07 Go to previous message
hi guys

got an 89 executive magna 2.6 fuel injection

I'm not really familiar with cars with chokes, but recently, it has taken about 10 mins in the mornings to warm up, and it stays at like 2000rpm before it drops to normal idle. I noticed there is a plastic screw under the air filter and also a metal one, both angled parallel toward the choke, i have played around with these with no results - it only gets worse each day i drive it.

This morning, the idle did not go down resulting in the car overheating and going spastic (car was still sort of running with the key out!)

Anyone have any tips on getting past this annoying long cold morning idles? the car struggles if i don't let the revs drop
