autometer tacho problem

i have an autpmeter tachi and wired it all up, it has worked before and it worked when the car was running, then when i turned it off the tacho needle wen tpast the 10K mark and somewhere between 10K and 0, in that void where there is no numbers... now the thing wont work at all... ive checked wiring to the tach and all is fine there... tacho powers on when you crank the car but needle doesnt move,
no idea what the prob is with it...
